These three objectives are an integral part of the sustainable mobility principles. The first priority is promoting better information about ITS among the public as well as for decision-makers.

ITS developments have an impact on traffic management and environment but the focus for the years to come is on the improvement of road safety. It is certain that transport safety is the domain where ITS solutions can provide the biggest potential for improvement, significantly reducing the number of road deaths.
